The PC version of Borderlands is now available for pre-purchase on Steam for 44.95. The game looks like it will be available to play at 3PM on the 26th of October. Doesn’t look like there is any bonus for pre-ordering like at GameStop, but it’s 10% off currently, nearly 20 bucks cheaper than the console versions when you factor in tax you’ll be paying at the store.
The game is also available on Direct2Drive for the same price.

Not for aussies.
Currently the service is behaving erratically. The User can click on specials then add it to their cart. However once the user has completed these steps te user cannot purchase the game.
When the player accesses their cart, their is a message saying that the user must remove “reundant” I presume it means redundant items from their cart.
Whats up with that ?!?!?! No love from D2D either.

Great news. Steam will open this game to a whole community of gamers that otherwise won’t make it out to their local brick and mortar store.
Although I’ll probably buy this game for 360, it will be hard to resist getting it for PC through Steam.
