Easter Egg: Secret Basement in New Haven

Before you turn in “Another Piece of the Puzzle” quest, why not stop by New Haven to partake in some more Gearbox weirdness inspired by A Christmas Story? Did that last sentence sound weird? Yeah, it was, just like this easter egg. See the tutorial after the jump.

You must be on the “Another Piece of the Puzzle” quest. (This is the quest where you kill the Rakk Hive). Before you turn the quest in (doesn’t matter whether you down him or not), go to the area pictured below, open the door and ride the elevator down for the room.

Some neat references in the room:

The Leg Lamp sitting on the desk is a reference to an exotic leg lamp the Dad got in the movie.
The unique Gearbox gun the Red Rider is a reference to the Red Rider BB Gun.
The flavor text on the Red Rider is a reference to a line from the movie as well. (”Careful, you might put someone’s eye out”)

Easter Egg: Secret Claptrap in Fyrestone

File this one under cool but useless, there is a hidden claptrap for those with mad jumping skills in Fyrestone. Unfortunately you can’t actually get to him, and even if you could, he wouldn’t give you the time of day. See below for a video of how to pogo on up there, and watch the little asshole taunt you.

Easter Egg: Secret Barrel Code

If someone finds an egg in Borderlands crazier than this, I will personally… It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t get crazier than this. When you are getting your “I’m On a Boat” achievement in Treacher’s Landing, shoot the oddly placed barrels in the following order to produce the ridiculous little scene seen in the video below.

Location: Treachers Landing

Shoot the barrels in this order:

Yellow (right of dock)
Green (distant trash pile to east)
Blue (either one on the boat)
Red (in water to left of boat)
