Rumored for some time now, Borderlands 2 has been officially announced! There is a splash page available at http://www.borderlands2.com/ and Game Informer has 12-pages of information to be revealed in their September issue. Xbox360 users be sure to check out the avatar items now available on the Marketplace! Gearbox recently added some new ones including the much-demanded Claptrap companion. Steam Players get Free DNF Early Access

Looks like the PC players (Steam specifically) are getting a special surprise for purchasing the original Borderlands before this week. If you check your CD Keys for Borderlands in Steam (right-click properties on the game and go to DLC tab), you will find a key named Duke Nukem Forever First Access Code. Enter that code on this page, create a GBX account (or link it to your existing forum login), and wait until the demo comes out (currently unannounced). Neat special treat from GBX. Tho...

Gearbox announced some show-stopping news at PAX10 this weekend with the announcement that they have taken over Duke Nukem Forever and will be releasing it next year, but the big news for us Borderlandsers is that DLC4 is out on Sept 28th and while there is no level cap raise in the DLC, there will be a free patch issued "around the late-October GOTY release" that "rebalances the game" and raises the cap to level 69. I have updated the skill calculator to allow up to level 69 builds, so go and...

The fourth (and likely final) DLC for Borderlands was just announced, and will have us taking on an army of Claptraps! The DLC will include 20 new missions, 10 extra skill points, 3 backpack slots, and perhaps some other surprises. Out of freaking nowhere, Gearbox announces the release date of DLC3 - The Secret Armory of General Knoxx - and its.... TOMORROW!!!! That's right, 2/23 for xbox owners, 2/25 for PC/PS3. I wish more gaming companies did this, though it seems kind of like a slip up to me. There will also be a pretty significant patch that addresses many bugs, including what promises to be a fix for modded weapons.
