Gearbox will be releasing an update Thursday October 30th at 2 A.M. CST for the Xbox 360 version of Borderlands. Gearbox also states they'll eventually release a patch for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions as well. Here are the update notes: (more...)...
  • Borderlands Pumpkin
    by synide
    Posted October 27th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
With Halloween this weekend, creative gaming nerd Dennis Cwik made this awesome pumpkin to commemorate Borderlands.  I think someone else made one using the game's logo.  Oh wait, no that's a Half-Life logo.  Close enough. (more...)...
  • Farming in New Haven

    Posted October 27th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Now that everyone is starting to get their 50s, the next thought on everyone's mind is, "Where do I get the guns?". Many people are suggesting that New Haven is the easiest place to farm, with it's 5 chests (2 red) within close proximity and next to no enemies. Check out the video below to see the spots. Simply exit to the menu and reload once you hit them and repeat. (more...)...
  • Red Text List
    by synide
    Posted October 27th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
Below is a list of the found guns with "Red Text". These are special weapons that usually have some sort of unique trait like bullets that multiply, regenerate bullets, or any number of crazy things Gearbox came up with. Thanks to Hyperion88 from the gbx forums for compiling. (more...)...
  • Amazin Loot: PNG-55005 Harmonious Enduring Shield
    by synide
    Posted October 25th, 2009 at 11:42 am
The description reads "[360][Shield][Purple][48] PNG-55005 Harmonious Enduring Shield (BEST IN WORLD)" and I've yet to see anyone refute.  You thought you were the man when you found that 1200 power shield in the market?  Get on this guy's level.  That or trade him the crazy things he is asking for in exchange.  Check the pics/stats after the jump. (more...)...
  • Power Leveling: 1-30 in 10 minutes
    by synide
    Posted October 24th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
This subject is tricky.  Many believe this to be cheating.  However this is a normal feature of the game that Gearbox couldn't possibly have overlooked.  Make up your own mind, and read the tutorial and video below if you want them quick levels. (more...)...
  • Game Tip: Grenade Jump
    by synide
    Posted October 24th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
While this could be considered relatively useless for practical purposes, the fact that there is grenade jumping in the game's physics is interesting information. Try it out next time you are waiting for your teammates to get out of the freaking menu, and you want to get on top of that otherwise inaccessible rooftop. Looks like it works best with sticky nades, best tried with low-power grenades, as the power doesnt affect how high you can jump, but does affect how much you're going to hurt you...
  • Item Duping Glitch
    by synide
    Posted October 24th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Just to preface this, I don't condone item duping, and have not confirmed this, nor do I plan to.  I do believe that all information about games should be made publicly available and widely distributed.  It looks like item duping was found before the game event launched.  Only works on 360 right now, watch the video for the how-to after the jump. (more...)...
  • Game Tip: Fast Travel in Playthrough 2
    by synide
    Posted October 24th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
When Fast Traveling in Playthrough 2, you will notice that most areas are unlocked from the start. This can be very helpful to speed your way to later areas. For instance once the Vault was ready to be encountered, I simply fast-traveled right to the end-boss, instead of trekking through multiple areas and enemies. There was also a neat glitch when I did this. The cinematic had a gun reticle enabled, and I could switch weapons and shoot invisible bullets at the center of the screen. Useless...
  • Guns named after forum members
    by synide
    Posted October 24th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
Did you know that Borderlands includes several guns named after gbx forum members?  There are seven currently found.  Very cool on Gearbox's part to include community members in their game.  Reminds me of when FASA had contests to put beta participants as the bots names in Shadowrun (and I won one).  If you are ever on Shadowrun and play against "synide", odds are, it's not me  (of course unless he starts glide-sniping as a troll).  Check out the names of the guns after the jump. (more.....
